“Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music.”

― Sergei Rachmaninov
My name is Nathan Baulch. I am an aspiring composer, currently completing a masters in music composition at Belmont University. I am currently living in Nashville, Tennessee, with my cat, Lili.

Background
Growing up in Nashville, I was around music often. I started my musical journey by taking piano lessons growing up, before starting trumpet in the 5th grade, which I have played all throughout my life. In high school, I participated in the concert band all four years, and jazz band for three years.

During my undergraduate at Wittenberg University, I was a music education major all four years, while also playing on the tennis team. During my sophomore year, I went to the symphony for the first time, which drastically changed my life. Starting junior year, I began a two year independent study in composition, going on to play my own works at my senior recital.

Shortly after graduating, I took some time to work while continuing to study composition independently. During those three years, I taught tennis during the day, and studied music at night. Finally, in 2023, I decided to go back to school, and was accepted into the Belmont University graduate program, where I am currently studying.
