3 Scenes for Orchestra (2025)

This piece began shortly after my audition for my master's degree. Originally, it was meant to be a reflection of a Psalm, Psalm 32. However, as it grew and underwent many changes, I realized that it had escaped the original interpretation of the text and began to form more into different aspects of my life, from its conception to its completion. These "scenes" are moments and feelings from the last year, reflected in musical form. I remember crafting the melody for the first scene, Mountainside Sunrise, while in a car going to my friend's bachelor party. We stayed in a cabin, and I remember waking up to the beautiful sunrises of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The peace I witnessed while my head was filled with anxiety after my audition wove into this scene: the feeling of wanting to enjoy beauty but not being able to appreciate it fully. Like the first scene, the second scene was taken and developed from a cut section of the first draft. This scene, Seeking Tranquility, reflects the attempts to find tranquility during the first two semesters of my program, balancing school, work, and relationships. The third scene, Building Momentum was written in the Spring of 2025. My life while writing this movement was in constant flux, with school and work fighting back and forth for my attention. Despite how busy this made me, the excitement around me was electrifying and contagious. These scenes reflect one of the most transformative periods of my life, a period that I will cherish for as long as I live and breathe.

String Quartet in 3 Movements (2025)

This piece was written during my first full year of my master's program. Coming into the program, I was desperate to find my voice. At first, I thought it would be a harmonic voice. However, as I began to experiment more and more, I began to realize I found more enjoyment working with rhythm and meter. This piece is the start of that journey.

Video Game Style Studies

Growing up, I played video games. A lot of video games. I still play video games, and I really enjoy the music to them! Given that I like them (and would love to write music for games as well), I've begun studying the music I like, and have started creating pieces in similar styles to them, which you can check out by clicking the link on the right!
